A Western Isles candlemaker is supporting a Church of Scotland-backed charity which
helps out local families in need.
Eco-friendly natural candle making company Uig Candles will be proving financial
support to family charity Oisean a’ Chalman (Dove’s Corner Baby Bank) this year.
Oisean a’ Chalman, which was set up in 2019 by a grant from the Church of Scotland’s
Go for It Fund, supports babies, children, young families and individuals facing
challenge across the Western Isles.
It also receives support from individuals, churches and organisational supporters.
Oisean a’ Chalman founder Mrs Joanne Murray Stewart said: “We are humbled by the
generous support of Uig Candles towards the work of the Doves Corner and thank them
very much.”
Rachel Warfield of Uig Candles said: "This year I am proud to be supporting Dove's
Corner Baby Bank, a vital initiative based in the heart of our community.
“Dove's Corner provides essential supplies and support throughout the Western Isles
and in 2025, their efforts are more important than ever, as they continue to assist
families and individuals with challenges that they face, with compassion and care.
I am honoured to contribute to their mission."
