A number of events were held in Stornoway to mark World Autism Awareness Month.

Local support group, Autism Eileanan Siar, organised a coffee morning, soft play session and an Easter egg hunt.

An autism-friendly screening of a film was also shown in conjunction with An Lanntair.

Autism Eileanan Siar is a voluntary organisation made up of parents of children, young people and adults who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

ASD is a condition that affects social interaction, communication, interests and behaviour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The support group normally meets on the second Friday of the month at the Lewis Retirement Centre, Stornoway.

The meetings start at 10am and normally last around two hours.

All parents and adults are welcome, along with anyone who have children with additional needs.
