A tolerant New Year to all 1/1/12
Sirs,
It never ceases to amaze me how intolerant of other opinions are those who, under the guise of tolerance, seek to force their views down other peoples' throats. For refusing to swallow their particular brand of tolerance,I have in recent times been called a vile, twisted ,hateful and vicious monster. And that's just for starters.
I was also threatened with underwater submersion in a weighted sack, and with a rather
crude surgical operation that would have cut short any remaining aspirations of fatherhood
(anonymous threat). While another kindly well wisher hoped I'd live to an advanced
age spent in prolonged and ever increasing agony, if not as a result of physical
mutilation ,then surely burdened by inconsolable remorse for having been Hitler's
speech writer -
Heartening to know that our personal liberties are being defended by such upstanding
,broad-
Extreme though the aforementioned punishments undoubtedly are. I was greatly relieved
not to have been threatened with the most deplorable hate crime of them all -
So what despicable and unspeakable deed could have provoked such a venomous and vengeful response from my critics? Those of a delicate or squeamish disposition may prefer not to read any further, as I am about to disclose the sordid details of that wanton act of depravity.
I humbly confess to have publicly stated a personal preference to exclude any homosexual couple from sharing a bed on my premises. Sorry to have disappointed those who were expecting a juicier confession, but that was the full extent of the wrongdoing which drew such a disproportionate and savage response from my vengeful critics.
The preference I speak of stems from an involuntary reflex action of physical revulsion and disgust which I associate with homosexual practises. My critics claim this to be a highly abnormal reaction to be pitied and punished in equal measure. This raises two fundamental questions.
Firstly: who has any right to decide what is a 'normal' reaction to such a circumstance. And secondly;who has any right to impose their version of 'normality' ( two men sharing a bed ) onto another person or household? Answers please !
A diagnosis of this 'abnormality' was offered by another critic and budding amateur psychologist who suggested that no normal person could think homosexual practises repulsive and those who do ,he argued, were using this aversion to conceal their own homosexuality. Presumably he also believes those who express an aversion to flying are all frustrated fighter pilots. Stick to the day job, mate.
Whatever theories are advanced for its causes, quite obviously this adverse reaction
prevents me from accommodating any homosexual pairing under my roof, regardless of
my trade or profession. My critics are unable or unwilling to accept this situation
or address the questions raised, resorting instead to threats and name-
So until the Scottish Government officially decree that a person who experiences feelings of distaste towards homosexual practises displays a dangerous abnormality and presents a threat to the public ,my critics for all their bullying tactics are powerless to prevent me from giving public expression to such feelings. A fact which shouldn't overly bother anyone who prides themselves on their tolerance of other peoples' dispositions.
So let's all raise a glass to a more tolerant 2012. Bliadhna mhath ur dhuibh uile, gach hetero agus homo.
